Candle Rituals & Care Guide
Candle Safety & Tips
- Never leave unattended: Treat the flame with respect.
- Heat surfaces: Always place your candle on a heat-resistant surface.
- Stop use: Discontinue use when only 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom to prevent the jar from overheating.
Wooden Wick
- The First Light: Allow your candle to burn for 2-3 hours, or until the wax melts all the way to the edges of the jar. This prevents "tunneling" (where wax stays stuck to the sides).
- The Trim: Before every relight, simply pinch off the black, burnt wood from the tip of the wick. The wick should be short (about 1/8" or 3mm).
- Why trim? Wood draws wax upward to fuel the flame. If the wood is too long, the wax cannot reach the top, and the flame will dim or go out.
Sand Wax
Svitlo Sand Wax represents a new era of sustainable luxury. It is a granulated, plant-based wax that allows you to create a brand new candle in seconds.
How to use Sand Wax:
- Pour: Fill any heat-safe vessel (ceramic, glass, or your empty Svitlo jar) with the sand wax granules.
- Wick: Insert the provided wick into the center, leaving about 1cm visible above the sand.
- Light: Light the wick and enjoy.
- Refresh: When you are done, let the wax cool. You can lift out the hardened center "puck" and shake the jar to level the sand again. It looks brand new every time.
